Founded in 1969 as a production partner for high-precision components in the aerospace industry, Witte Barskamp GmbH & Co. KG is today one of the leading international developers and manufacturers of modular fixturing, positioning and measuring devices as well as feeder systems. The medium-sized, family owned, company has stood for half a century for precision machining, inventive talent and determined growth.
1969
Founding of the company in Bleckede by Horst Witte as a contract manufacturing company for the aerospace industry. The trained technician and foreman employed one other employee at this point - a farmer who had been retrained to become a machinist.
1971
The workforce grew to eight employees just two years later. Already, the space in the initial building - a former small blacksmith workshop in Bleckede – was running out: Horst Witte builds a new, larger workshop for his company.
1973
Horst Witte develops his first own, registered design protected product: RKD, the radius and ball joint turning unit. To date, more than 250 other protective rights on developments and wordmarks followed.
1973
Witte participates as an exhibitor at an international trade fair, the EMO in Hannover, Germany for the first time.
1982
Another product line developed in-house complements the portfolio: vacuum. To this day vacuum clamping technology is an important business area with a high degree of innovation for Witte.
1985
Witte goes global: First export activities with own products and services.
1987
Market launch of the first modular fixturing kit under the ALUFIX brand.
1990
The company has continued to develop and thrive. In the meantime, the basis for the extremely successful ALUFIX system had been laid and the product range had been expanded to include feeder systems and fixtures for large components.
The company continues to expand and, with 90 employees, moves into a new building at its current location in the Barskamp district of Bleckede.
1992
Establishment of the sales and service branch in Chemnitz, Germany.
1999
The production and storage capacities have to be increased again. A second manufacturing hall is built.
Foreign countries have long since become aware of the innovative solutions and high-precision components from Bleckede. The former two-man contract manufacturer has become a medium-sized company with around 140 employees.
2001
Witte Far East Pte. Ltd. Is founded. With its central location, the Singapore facility enables the entire Asian region plus Australia to be looked after. With its own 3D design department, manufacturing and assembly area and an elaborate measuring center, Witte Far East handles extensive projects here.
2002
The research and development project "sandwich plates" is launched and steadily gains importance, now an independent product line.
2003
With Horst Witte de Mexico S.A. DE C.V. as a subsidiary in Chihuahua, Mexico, the Central and South American sales area is also opened up.

2007
Further expansion of the manufacturing and service areas with new buildings at the headquarters in Germany.
The “Imagine” research and development project is successfully completed: Sandwich plates turn mobile, they now have hovercraft drives and can be operated by remote control.
2008
Market launch of "ALUFIX ECO" for turn key fixture building projects.
2009
Horst Witte Gerätebau e.K. changes its name to Horst Witte Gerätebau KG and celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The founder and innovation driver Horst Witte has, with determination and foresight, made his company one of the leading international developers and manufacturers of modular clamping, positioning and measuring fixtures as well as feeder systems. The subcontracting of components, primarily for demanding aerospace engineering, is still part of the service portfolio. Andreas Witte, son of the founder, is appointed sole authorized signatory and technical director.
2010/2011
Dipl.-Ing. Jens Düffert and Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Barth are appointed as individual authorized officers.
Jürgen Barth assumes responsibility for global sales and the local management of the foreign subsidiaries in the USA, Mexico and Brazil. Jens Düffert takes over the responsibility of Witte Far East Pte Ltd. as managing director.
Restructuring of the subsidiaries Witte Far East Pte. Ltd. and Witte LP. Witte LP will initially move its headquarters from El Paso in Texas to Tucker in Georgia and then from Tucker to Duluth in Georgia. The service portfolio now also includes the local design of fixtures.
Witte Far East Pte. Ltd. gives up local manufacturing and contract measurement inspection. It is now the competent location for fixture CAD design, project management and commissioning in the entire Asian region.
2013
First fully automated transport and loading system project for measuring technology: an external control station coordinates eleven Witte sandwich plates for loading optical and tactile measuring machines in what is currently the most innovative measuring room at the Volkswagen plant in Emden.
2016
Horst Witte sets further milestones for future company development and expands the company management. His son Andreas Witte and graduate engineer Jens Düffert join the company as managing directors. Both have been associated with the company for a long time and are guarantors of continued success.

2018
Adhesive technology goes into series production: Innovator Horst Witte revolutionizes connection technology and replaces key screw connections with adhesive connections. Own adhesive engineers are trained. Derived from this, new concepts for fixture systems and components are created along the same lines.
“TopPos” goes into series production. TopPos is the first modular fixturing system without special components and is one hundred percent reusable.
